Alexander - o primeiro teaser
Mesmo após inúmeros incidentes pitorescos ocorridos na produção, Alexander, de Oliver Stone promete encher os olhos do público no final deste ano.
O primeiro incidente está relacionado a Colin Farrell, o novo queridinho de Hollywood, que, graças a suas aventuras amorosas, estampou tablóides no período das filmagens. Primeiro abandonou a esposa grávida ao se envolver com Angelina Jolie, que interpreta a mãe (!) de Alexander no épico. Em seguida, a bela atriz o deixou após saber de suas "escapadelas" amorosas, e criticou seus péssimos hábitos - como beber demais e andar nu pelo set de filmagem.
O segundo incidente foram os rolos de filme perdidos. Antes mesmo de dar início à pós-produção, o diretor de fotografia constatou que as películas que continham as imagens finais estavam avariadas. Resultado: toda a equipe teve que se deslocar de volta à Tailândia e refilmar o material perdido.
Mas o mais interessante de tudo é a polêmica histórica que o filme suscitou. Por se tratar da biografia de um personagem real, o diretor e roteirista teve que dar satisfações sobre aspectos polêmicos do protagonista, mostrados no filme. Para começar, a declaração num programa de TV de que "Alexandre, o Grande" na verdade deveria se chamar "Alexandre, o Paranóico".
Stone afirma que se baseou na biografia de autoria de Plutarco para fazer o roteiro do filme. A biografia foi escrita sete séculos após a morte do imperador (que ocorreu no ano de 323 A.C.), o que significa que também pode ter imprecisões. Para começar, até hoje historiadores diveregem sobre a nacionalidade de Alexandre, os fatos mitológicos sobre seu nascimento e sua morte até hoje de causa indefinida.
Entre muitas outras polêmicas históricas mostradas no épico, estão desde os cabelos louros tingidos de Farrell até fatos históricos como seu hábito de colecionar amantes do sexo feminino e masculino do mesmo modo que anexava territórios ao seu império, sua inteligência e cultura (foi educado por Aristóteles e empenhou-se em fazer da biblioteca de Alexandria um centro de conhecimento mundial), sua genialidade militar, sua liderança e coragem (que suscitaram admiração irrestrita em suas tropas). Por outro lado, há sua obsessividade por conquistas e até mesmo sua suposta doença maníaco-depressiva. Enfim, todos os ingredientes de sucesso de um filme, com a vantagem de se tratar de uma lenda que de fato existiu (frase que o teaser utiliza para apresentar o personagem) e teve uma biografia tão admirável quanto curta.
